Three lessons that demonstrate the importance of networking in growing a thriving real estate business.

On the surface, real estate is all about buying and selling property. Of course, it’s so much more than that. It involves, in large part, dealing with people. If you’re involved in the real estate industry in any way, then you’ll need to understand that people (and networking with them) is your key to get ahead and grow your business.

If there’s anyone who can teach us a thing or two about succeeding in real estate through networking, it’s Andrew Bell. Here are three lessons we can learn from Andrew’s journey that demonstrates how important business owners networking is in growing a thriving real estate business:

  1.     It pushes you out of your comfort zone:

Andrew Bell started out in real estate like everyone else, working for someone and advancing through promotions. However, when his career started to stagnate, he realised that if he wanted to experience greater success, he’d have to strike out alone. He realised that if his employer was unwilling to work with him, he would have to find someone who would, using networking.

  1.     It forces you to build relationships:

When Andrew first started his own real estate business, he ran a one man show. He quickly realised that you can only last so long without any help. Over time he ended up enlisting his brother to help him, a relationship which grew and lasts to this day. Networking forces you to consider the people around you as key players in your business’ growth. Like Andrew, you might find that help is closer to home than you think.

  1.     It helps you grow:

You cannot expand your business nationally, or even globally, without networking with the right people. When Andrew and his brother first took on running the Ray White Surfers Paradise office, the country was entering a recession, and for two years, the business ran at a loss. What enabled Andrew and his brother to survive was relying on the relationships and connections they had made in their ten years prior to running the Ray White Surfers Paradise office.

These are just some of the lessons that demonstrate the importance of networking in the real estate and property industries. Remember that you can hear from Andrew Bell himself when you attend our June 20th Business Breakfast.
